Today I want to share something that I took a habit for a couple of weeks. Home has been the place where we have spent most of our time in 2020. Many of us are or were on lockdown, limited to go outside or working from home, and it is even more necessary at the moment to create a relaxing atmosphere. Since Christmas is only within a few days ahead and to create the perfect cocooning atmosphere, here are 3 things I do at home:
- Light up some scented candles
There is nothing more relaxing than having some candles all around your place, even more, if they are scented! My favorite brand remains the famous Yankee Candles and I have an impressive collection of tarts for different occasions.

For Wintertime I love the following fragrances:
- Recreate a crackling fireplace
I always switch the TV on and go to my Youtube app. If you type the keyword “a fireplace” and search for it, you will end up finding dozens of videos recreating a fireplace atmosphere that lasts for a few hours (even some are 10 hours long!). If you don’t have the chance to have a real fireplace like me, this is a good alternative. There is nothing more relaxing than being on your couch with a good book to read and have the sound of a crackling fireplace in the background.

Here are some videos that I personally recommend you to watch:

- Put on some Christmas ambient music
Youtube is again the go-to place when it comes to having good music compilations, here are some of my favorites:
I love listening to Michael bubblé at Christmas time, it set you in such a good mood as he has an incredible voice. For this particular example, you have both: a great fireplace view plus the music 🙂
And then you have also a compilation with some of my favorites singers such as Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole etc.
If you are a Spotify user, here is also a selection with Christmas music classics:
I hope you enjoyed these tips on how to create a relaxing and cozy atmosphere at home for Wintertime and also for Christmas (within a few days now!) Who is excited?
Happy Holidays!
